Meldin, a pride of Los Baños, Laguna (Philippines), comes from a family of music lovers. In his second time to join ASOP, he actually collaborated with his mother, Erlinda, for the song entry entitled “Tanging Daan” which became a monthly finals qualifier too. For his songwriting, his mentor and inspiration is his older brother, Marlon, who is a two-time ASOP grand finalist.
Meldin works as a sales assistant, aside from being an entrepreneur. (He was able to put up his own bakery through his prizes from ASOP.) He is into sports and painting as well.
Bayang is a multi-awarded and internationally renowned singer-musician of Lumad origin hailing from Agusan del Sur, Mindanao (Philippines). She first entered the OPM scene with Joey Ayala as “ang Bagong Lumad” (meaning “altered native”) in 1993. Since then, it has been more than two decades for this indigenous voice. She performs and is recognized mostly for world and folk music both in the local scene and abroad. During the 1997 Katha Awards, her album “Bayang Makulay” won as the Best Folk Album. She brought home the Asian Vocalist Festival Golden Award from the 1996 Hanoi Music Festival held in Vietnam.
In 2008, she released an album named “Biyaya.” Coincidence?
I
A promise to value the blessings and the creations of GOD as a whole. A vow to thank the CREATOR Himself for everything. This is the intent and message of this praise song with an ethnic flavor. True to its title, the song is a blessing by itself considering an amateur composer with not much know-how in the world of music.
The song is inspired by nature and everything in it. Indeed, from the minutest to the most colossal, all creatures must glorify the Almighty. If the humming birds and the huge waves produce significant sounds they use to praise GOD, why not scream to the top of our lungs to worship Him who created each one of us?
