‘Trust in God’s Word’ says ASOP composer

A Song of Praise Music Festival Year 7 tenth grand finalist LJ Manzano expressed thanks to God for winning the August Monthly Finals with his worship hymn entitled “Banal na Salita”.
The winning song was performed by Tawag ng Tanghalan’s R&B Charmer Mark Garcia.
With its poetic lyrical content and innovative melodic phrasing, the gospel song expresses faith in the power of God’s Word amidst the coldness of life, fear, and anxiety.
Inspired and humbled, the composer explained his heart behind the song: “The song is very special to me because, aside from the fact that I wrote this based on my experience, I know that this is also the same with other people who had bad experiences in life but the Lord is still there to help us through.”
After winning in a producer’s pick episode, he made some revisions on the lyrics believing that a song improves with the judge’s perspective.
As an aspiring composer, Manzano has first joined ASOP in 2016 with his song entry “Pag-ibig Ka, Oh Dios” interpreted by JBK in ASOP Year 5 Grand Finals.

While praying for his health after the setback of overworking himself on five compositions, he said he surrenders himself to God’s will as he is all set to be back for this year’s grand finale.
