ASOP fans who love country music have reason to celebrate because Rolan Delfin’s country praise song “Ikaw Na Lang Mag-Drive Ng Buhay Ko” has made it to the Grand Finals of A Song Of Praise Music Festival Year 4 after winning the May monthly finals.
Acoustic artist Melvin Sumalinog’s style and voice were tailor made for the song which made for a winning performance that secured additional points for the entry.
“I’m glad that our song won and is in the monthly finals. I’m grateful to my composer who for believing in me. Maybe we’ll collaborate more this time for needed improvements,” Melvin enthused.
Composer Rolan also expressed his gratitude, “I am very happy with what the judges said. I thank God for guiding me through the process of writing the song.”
Roland defeated three different styles of music namely the disco piece,“Tanging Ikaw Jesus” of Adrian Jed Jaranilla performed by Jennifer Maravilla; the ballad “Walang Hanggang Kadakilaan” by Noli Saballa and Ferdinand Pua performed by Viva Artist Miguel Aguila; and the power ballad “Dios Na Dakila” by Lino Cajegas performed by The Voice Season 1 contender Hans Dimayuga.
ASOP’s resident judge “Doktor Musiko” Mon del Rosario was joined by two of the Philippine music industry’s best: acclaimed composer Jungee Marcelo and musical theater actress Isay Alvarez.
