‘Kislap’ composer returns to ASOP, wins weekly title

Posted on: December 11th, 2017

A Song of Praise (ASOP) Music Festival’s first weekly elimination for December named returning composer Oliver Narag’s composition entitled “Ang Pangako Mo” as the Song of the Week.

The composition trumped “Tumawag Sa Dios” a Pinoy-rock-country praise song written by Rolan Delfin and “Home” a song entry by Finland-based registered nurse Mark Arthur Padilla.

In her performance, interpreter singer-songwriter Jessa Mae Gabon showcased a high-energy rendition of the song.

Narag competed as a grand finalist in the third year of the music fest. The composer had taken a shift from the fast beat of Kislap to a more emotional tone and content in his song lyrics. His sick daughter inspired him to compose an inspiring pop track that tells about trusting God’s promises in trying times.

The composer is set to be back for the monthly finals.
